THREE MEN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY EXPLOITING TEENAGER
Three men responsible for luring a 17-year-old into prostitution have been sentenced to a total of 13 years in prison.Alistair Spagnoletti, Curtis Walker, and Callum Ward were taken into custody in November 2014 after police responded to a property in Rickmansworth and discovered a missing girl.
Officers described the case as the most severe example of child exploitation they had encountered.
They found the girl in a vulnerable state, with the house being filled with sexual paraphernalia, including used condoms.
During the investigation, which was presented at Harrow Crown Court this week, evidence emerged indicating that the men had been subjecting the girl to extensive sexual exploitation across multiple locations in Hertfordshire and London.
Curtis Walker, aged 23 and residing on Lord Street in Watford, received a sentence of four and a half years for controlling the child exploitation of the initial victim.
The authorities highlighted the complexity of the case, noting that the defendants had groomed the girl into engaging in sex work with men for financial gain.
The men provided her with food, drinks, and drugs, leading her to believe she was being cared for and could trust them.
The police chief noted that the girl was so under their influence that she felt unable to seek help or support police action, and expressed concern that she might never fully recover from the trauma.
The court considered these acts to be extremely reprehensible, emphasising that the defendants pose a risk to other children.
The sentence serves as a reminder that justice will be pursued even without direct victim complaints.
The prosecutor remarked that in cases of Child Sexual Exploitation, victims are often groomed to the extent they believe they are not victims, making it difficult to prosecute offenders.
Nevertheless, he assured that Hertfordshire authorities are committed to protecting young people and bringing culprits to justice, regardless of victim reports.
