The disturbing case of Craig Nixon, a resident of Rochdale, has come to a close with his recent conviction and sentencing for heinous crimes involving the exploitation of young girls. Nixon, aged 36, was found to have engaged in a deeply troubling pattern of voyeuristic behavior, which included secretly filming girls in vulnerable situations and possessing a significant collection of illicit images.

Details emerged during a court hearing at Manchester Crown Court, revealing that Nixon had concealed his phone in a manner that allowed him to record girls on the toilet without their knowledge. Police investigations uncovered documents labeled 'Spy Cam' in his bedroom, indicating premeditation and a deliberate attempt to hide his activities. Further analysis of Nixon’s mobile device uncovered a vast array of illicit content, including numerous videos and screenshots that documented his disturbing hobby.

One of Nixon’s victims, who testified during the proceedings, described her feelings of discomfort, embarrassment, and anger upon discovering her victimization. She referred to Nixon as a 'predator,' highlighting the predatory nature of his actions. The court was shown evidence of more than 40 images—screenshots taken from videos—and a collection of clips that depicted the victims in compromising situations. In his defense, Hayley Parkes acknowledged Nixon’s remorse and regret, emphasizing that he was out of work at the time and struggling with low self-esteem. She also noted that Nixon had been misusing prescribed drugs and alcohol, which may have contributed to his behavior. Despite these mitigating factors, the court sentenced Nixon to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to four counts of voyeurism and one count of possessing indecent images of children.
