IRVINE MAN HANDED LAST CHANCE AFTER THREATENING EX-PARTNER
A MAN who sent threatening emails to his ex-partner in Irvine has been given one last chance by a sheriff.Craig Marwick, 45, admitted writing threatening and abusive messages to the woman in Morar Place on January 11 this year.
He referred to her and the woman’s family in offensive terms using abusive language and threats.
Marwick previously pleaded guilty to the offence at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and returned to the dock last week for sentencing.
Defence solicitor Fraser Alexander revealed to presiding Sheriff Derek Livingston that the relationship between the pair is over and that the jobless Marwick, of Paisley, now cares for one of his children full-time.
Sheriff Livingston stated when passing sentence: “This has to be your last chance.
I do take into account that you take care of one of your children but that will not necessarily save you from any custodial sentence should you commit this type of offending again.” Marwick was handed a two month tagging order, two years supervision and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
A non-harassment order will prevent Marwick entering Morar Place or directly contacting the complainer.
