SCUNTHORPE MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A man identified as Craig Hillman, aged 36 and from Scunthorpe, has been sentenced to five years and ten months in prison after pleading guilty to raping a woman.The crime occurred while the woman was sleeping, and Hillman was brought before Grimsby Crown Court on July 7.
In addition to his prison sentence, Hillman received a 10-year restraining order and will be on the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Constable Rebecca McInnis of Humberside Police stated that Hillman had raped the woman as she slept, emphasizing that 'no amount of justice' could undo the trauma inflicted.
She commended the victim for her bravery in coming forward, which helped to remove Hillman from the streets.
Det Con McInnis also noted that this ordeal would likely impact the victim for the rest of her life.
