JAIL FOR DONCASTER MAN WHO SEXUALLY EXPLOITED GIRL IN SCUNTHORPE HOTELS
A 'savage' man who sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl in hotels has been jailed.
Alexander Olas, 23, met the teenager through social media in August 2022 before taking her to hotels in Scunthorpe over a number of months.
On 7 November, he was sentenced to six years and four months in prison at Grimsby Crown Court after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child, actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and witness intimidation.
Det Sgt Tony Wilkinson stated Olas 'not only took advantage of a vulnerable 15-year-old girl' but also 'threatened and assaulted her if she refused to give him what he wanted.' Olas, formerly from Doncaster, initially denied the charges but later changed his pleas.
An investigation was launched after police received a call from a concerned parent in September 2022.
Digital forensic analysis revealed extensive messages sent across social media platforms between him and the girl, whom he knew was a teenager.
Police found that Olas booked hotel rooms under false names to conceal his identity.
He was also made subject of a 15-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
