SCUNTHORPE MAN JAILED FOR ABUSING TWO 13-YEAR-OLDS

A man who sexually abused two 13-year-old girls has been jailed.

Alan Wigglesworth, from Scunthorpe, was found guilty of multiple sex offences by a unanimous jury following a five-day trial in November 2025.

The 45-year-old was sentenced to 15 years in prison with a five-year extended licence period at Grimsby Crown Court on Friday.

Det Con Nathan LeQuelenec, of Humberside Police, who led the investigation, praised the victims for their 'patience and their maturity' throughout the process.

Humberside Police said Wigglesworth had been 'manipulating and controlling' two 13-year-old girls.

The force said he gave them alcohol so he could perform sexual acts on them and told them they would be taken away if they tried to tell anyone about what he was doing to them.
