CRAIG FORBES CAUGHT FILMING WOMEN IN DUNDEE'S TESCO AND OVERGATE CENTRE
Craig Forbes, a 37-year-old resident of Dundee, was involved in a disturbing incident that has shocked the local community. The incident unfolded within the premises of Tesco on South Road in Dundee, where Forbes was caught using a small, concealed digital camera hidden inside his rucksack to secretly film women as they went about their shopping. The covert filming was discovered when security personnel at the nearby Overgate Centre observed suspicious behavior from Forbes and decided to intervene. When challenged, Forbes was asked to surrender his camera, but he responded with frantic attempts to delete the photographs and videos stored on the device. Despite his efforts to erase the evidence, security personnel managed to seize the camera and handed it over to police authorities. Upon inspection, law enforcement officials uncovered a disturbing collection of images and footage. The material included explicit images of women wearing short skirts or dresses, with some photographs clearly revealing their underwear, raising serious concerns about privacy violations and predatory behavior.
Further investigation revealed that Forbes had also set up a hidden camera in his bathroom, capturing private moments without consent. The police found footage from this setup that further implicated him in voyeuristic activities. The timeline of his offenses spans from January 1 to August 5 of the previous year, during which he attempted to record women’s underwear surreptitiously. Additionally, he admitted to recording private acts in his bathroom between October 2010 and April 2011, indicating a pattern of invasive behavior over an extended period.
Craig Forbes pleaded guilty to charges related to the use of a concealed camera to record women’s underwear and private acts. His actions have prompted a serious legal response. Sheriff George Way sentenced him to perform 200 hours of community service and ordered him to be registered as a sex offender for a period of five years. The case has raised significant concerns about privacy and safety within the Dundee community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and security in public and private spaces alike.
