A MAN threatened to set fire to his ex-girlfriend’s home in Irvine has been ordered not to contact her.
Craig Denniston, 27, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court after the incident at Leven Place on November 28, 2020.
Court papers state Denniston caused his ex-partner fear and alarm by repeatedly striking her door while shouting and swearing.
He then made a threat to set fire to the property while making other threats of violence against the victim.
The offence was aggravated as it involved the abuse of his ex-partner.
When Denniston appeared for sentencing last week, his solicitor stated the criminal justice social work report was 'generally favourable' and mentioned there was 'no possibility of any resumption' in the relationship, suggesting he had 'learned his lesson.' Denniston, who is now listed at Kinloss Park, Fife, was sentenced to a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work and was also placed on a non-harassment order for 12 months.
