MAN PREYED ON CHILDREN FOR HIS OWN SEXUAL GRATIFICATION
Lancashire Police’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team received a report in August 2023 indicating that Conner Lettherd had downloaded an indecent image to a Dropbox account.The 24-year-old, who did not have a fixed address, was subsequently detained by officers.
It was also alleged that Lettherd was involved in sexually abusing two young children and taking indecent images of them.
During a police interview, officers specifically questioned him about these accusations, which he initially denied.
However, he later admitted to sexually abusing the children and creating indecent images.
Lettherd was taken into custody on suspicion of child abuse and was later charged with assaulting a child under 13 by touching.
Analysis of his electronic devices revealed a total of 173 images classified as Category A, 320 as Category B, and 833 as Category C indecent images of children.
He appeared before Preston Crown Court on June 7, where he pleaded guilty to several charges, including causing a child to view sexual images, engaging in sexual communications with a child on four occasions, and producing indecent photographs of a child.
He received a prison sentence of four years and 11 months and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
