ABUSIVE BLACKBURN STALKER 'GAVE NO THOUGHT' TO VICTIM
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Robert Lewandowski had contacted the victim and turned up at her home, even after he was put on bail for offences of stalking and criminal damage.
He pleaded guilty to stalking, criminal damage, assault and two charges of breaching bail.
He was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, with 30 days of rehabilitation activity requirements and a 120-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement.
He was made subject to a restraining order for two years and ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge and £325 costs.
District Judge Alexandra Preston said Lewandowski had stalked, harassed and caused fear to the victim over a significant period of time.
"Your behaviour was abusive and manipulative, and you gave no thought to how your behaviour would affect the lady you say you loved," said District Judge Preston.
"You should feel great shame about the way you have behaved." Glenn Anderton, prosecuting, said the victim had reached the end of her tether.
"She fears violence and is worried about her children," said Mr Anderton.
"Even though the relationship ended five years ago, she still feels the need to request a restraining order." Mitigating, Bradley Hayes said alcohol was a problem for his client and that he has reached out to recovery services to get help with that.
