BROMSGROVE MAN COLIN HOEY BROWN JAILED OVER CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In September 2010, Colin Hoey Brown, a 46-year-old man from Golden Cross Lane, Catshill, Bromsgrove, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after admitting to making, distributing, and possessing indecent images of children.
The charges relate to a total of 963 images, many of which were categorized as the most serious type of illegal photographs, according to West Mercia police.
Brown was also ordered to be on the sex offenders register for 10 years by Worcester Crown Court.
Additionally, authorities ordered the forfeiture and destruction of his computer and related materials.
At an earlier court hearing, Brown confessed to creating indecent photographs of children between January 1, 2009, and March 31, 2010.
He also admitted to distributing such images between January 19 and March 31, 2010, and possessing them from March 7 to March 26, 2010, with the intent to distribute.
As part of his sentence, Brown was subjected to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
The terms of this order ban him from using any computer device unless it has fully operational internet offending prevention and detection software, overseen by West Mercia Police.
He is also prohibited from accessing the internet through other electronic devices.
On release, Brown must also adhere to strict conditions, including avoiding unsupervised contact with children under 16 unless approved by Children’s Services, refraining from inviting children into his residence, and not engaging in any paid, voluntary, or recreational activities that could put him in contact with children under 16.
