COLIN GREGORY, NOTTINGHAM PAEDOPHILE, SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN CALIFORNIA AND UK
Colin Gregory, also known by the alias Anthony Luckwill, a notorious sex offender from Nottingham, has been handed a significant prison sentence after a disturbing case involving online child exploitation.The case came to light when Nottinghamshire Police, in collaboration with the FBI, uncovered Gregory’s sinister plans to exploit minors across the Atlantic in California.
According to court proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court, Gregory, who has a long history of criminal activity spanning over two decades, was found to have engaged in manipulative and deceitful conduct aimed at recruiting young boys for sexual purposes.
His criminal record includes convictions in Wales, Ireland, and Scotland, but he has been residing in Sherwood, Nottingham, under a new identity.
Investigations revealed that Gregory had been actively communicating with a teenage boy in Los Angeles.
Electronic devices seized from his residence on Pelham Road on September 21, 2023, contained disturbing evidence, including videos of abuse.
Among these was a video titled “14-year-old and 12-year-old by the pool,” which Gregory shared with like-minded individuals.
The police uncovered that Gregory had offered to pay the Californian teenager, who was 15 years old and living with his mother, a sum of $1,000 to participate in a video shoot.
The arrangement involved the boy appearing in footage for up to three hours, with Gregory inciting him to engage in sexual activity via video chat.
Further investigation revealed that Gregory had planned to produce footage involving up to 100 boys, either naked or in their underwear, and had sought to pay for such material.
The FBI’s involvement confirmed the minor’s age and residence, adding gravity to the case.
During the court hearing, Judge Michael Auty KC sentenced Gregory to a total of 18 years in prison.
The sentence comprises 10 years of immediate custody followed by an eight-year extended license period.
The judge emphasized the severity of Gregory’s actions, stating, “You offered to pay a 15-year-old in California to appear in a video for up to three hours to satisfy your insatiable appetite for teenage boys.
This is set against a backdrop of your truly horrific previous convictions.
You pose a high risk to teenage boys, and I fear it is virtually certain you will continue to offend in this way.” Judge Auty further described Gregory as a manipulative and deceitful individual, highlighting the ongoing danger he presents to minors.
The court noted that Gregory’s criminal history includes 16 convictions for 60 offences, with sentences handed down since 2004 across various jurisdictions including South Wales, Dublin, Scotland, Guernsey, and Nottingham.
Kevin Waddingham, representing Gregory, argued that his client had led a largely isolated life with minimal family support.
He pleaded for leniency, emphasizing Gregory’s positive outlook on his future and requesting that his sentence not be overly harsh.
As part of his sentence, Gregory will be on the sex offender register for life and subject to a lifetime sexual harm prevention order.
He will not be eligible for parole until he has served half of his custodial term, ensuring continued supervision and monitoring for the foreseeable future.
