RUNCORN WOMAN JAILED FOR STALKING MAN AND ASSAULTING OFFICER
A 51-YEAR-old woman who left a photograph of herself under the windscreen wiper of a man’s car has been jailed.
Colette Amor-Garton, of Waterloo Road, Runcorn, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
This was for sentencing after she pleaded guilty to stalking without fear, alarm or distress and assaulting a police officer.
The stalking offence took place in Runcorn from September 17 to September 26 of this year.
Court documents state that during this period, the defendant attended her victim’s address on four separate days.
On two of these days, Amor-Garton damaged the victim’s property.
On another day, she interfered with his car by leading a photograph of herself under the windscreen wiper of his car.
On October 4, Amor-Garton committed the offence of assaulting a police officer.
Magistrates handed the defendant a prison sentence of eight weeks.
This was due to the offences being ‘so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified’.
A two-year restraining order was also made.
