MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND HARASSING FORMER PARTNER
Ashley Price, who resides on Mooring Close in Runcorn, appeared before Chester Crown Court on Monday, 12 January, where he received a prison sentence of three years and 11 months.
He was also subject to a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim.
The 41-year-old had previously admitted to charges including perverting the course of justice, stalking without causing fear, and two counts of harassment.
Throughout their relationship, Price engaged in frequent emotional and verbal abuse aimed at exerting control over the victim.
He would insist on seeing her phone, control her spending and clothing choices, and often called her offensive names.
He even tried to stop her from visiting the local cemetery where her child was laid to rest.
Following the end of the relationship, the victim reported her experiences to Cheshire Police.
Legal measures were taken, including the implementation of a non-molestation order and a restraining order, and Price was given a suspended sentence.
Despite these measures, his conduct worsened, involving repeated stalking of the victim, which caused her ongoing fear.
Price was ultimately apprehended and charged with the related offenses.
