CLIVE JONES FROM NORTH WALSHAM JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN NORWICH
In February 2005, Clive Jones, a 29-year-old resident of North Walsham in Norfolk, was sentenced to prison after admitting to possessing indecent photographs of children.Jones, who had served as a chorister at St Nicholas Church in North Walsham for two decades, left his position shortly after his arrest, marking a significant turning point in his life.
The discovery of the illicit images occurred in 2003 when Jones took his computer to a local repair shop.
It was during this routine maintenance that the images were uncovered, leading to a police investigation and subsequent charges.
The court proceedings revealed the disturbing nature of the photographs, which Judge Paul Downes described as "disgusting".
During the sentencing at Norwich Crown Court, Judge Downes emphasized the severity of the offense, stating, "Normal children have to be used to make these pictures possible.
They are disgusting pictures." Jones pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing indecent photographs of children, a crime that carries serious legal consequences.
As part of his punishment, Jones was sentenced to nine months in prison.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities related to children.
Furthermore, he was prohibited from working with children for the remainder of his life, reflecting the court's concern for public safety and the protection of minors.
