CHRISTOPHER WOODALL'S HORRIFIC CRUELTY IN BOLTON: CAT KILLED WHILE HIGH ON BUTANE GAS

In the early hours of a morning in Bolton, a disturbing incident unfolded that shocked animal lovers and residents alike.

Christopher Woodall, born on 15 February 1976 and residing on Ainsworth Lane in Bolton BL2, was involved in a brutal act of animal cruelty that would leave a lasting impact on the community.

Witnesses reported seeing Woodall emerging from behind a shed in the Whalley Range area, dressed in pyjama bottoms that were soaked in blood.

His appearance was alarming, and he was observed staggering around while inhaling from a canister of butane gas.

An eyewitness described him as being ‘off his face,’ indicating he was under the influence of the substance at the time.

Nearby, the lifeless body of Skittles, a three-year-old rescue cat, was discovered.

The animal’s body bore signs of a violent attack, with her collar wrapped around her back legs and a penny placed on top of her bloodstained head.

The scene was both tragic and disturbing, highlighting the severity of the cruelty inflicted upon the defenseless creature.

Authorities quickly responded to the scene, and Woodall was detained by police.

During questioning, he admitted to inhaling butane gas and was subsequently charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

His defense argued that Skittles had attacked him, but the court found this explanation insufficient to justify the cruelty.

In court, Woodall pleaded guilty to the charges.

His defense solicitor, Raj Chopra, acknowledged that there was little to defend in his client’s actions but noted that Woodall had expressed remorse for his behavior.

The case was heard before District Judge David Clarke, who recognized the seriousness of the offense but ultimately decided to impose a sentence that reflected the circumstances.

Woodall was sentenced to a ten-week prison term, suspended for a period, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses.

Additionally, he was ordered to pay £50 in compensation to Skittles’ owner and an £80 victim surcharge.

The owner of Skittles, speaking after the hearing, expressed her outrage and disappointment, stating, “He killed an innocent cat.

I understand there are financial issues with putting people in prison, but I think he should spend time in jail.” As of 2022, Christopher Woodall is believed to be residing in Leeds, West Yorkshire, but his actions in Bolton continue to resonate as a stark reminder of animal cruelty and the importance of accountability.
