KENDAL SEX OFFENDER ADMITS FIFTH BREACH OF NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A REGISTERED sex offender has pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notification requirements of a court order.Christopher George Helman, of Crook, near Kendal, was made the subject of a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and notification requirements having been sentenced for making indecent images of children in 2017.
The 50-year-old was released from prison on December 8, 2023, having served a custodial sentence for another offence, South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard.
Prosecuting the case on March 17, Lee Dacre said the defendant was in breach of the terms under the sex offenders register after he failed to complete an annual notification requirements form.
Mr Dacre said Helman had previously breached court orders relating to his SHPO and notification requirements on four previous occasions.
In mitigation, his solicitor Lynsey Oldham said her client had not received a phone call reminding him of his annual review.
Magistrates committed the case to Carlisle Crown Court on April 17 for sentence.
Helman was granted unconditional bail.
