BURNLEY MAN ADMITS STALKING AS HE 'WANTED TO SEE HIS KIDS'
A man named Christopher Bryan, aged 32 from Brunshaw Avenue, Burnley, admitted to stalking his ex-partner.The Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard that Bryan continued to visit her address despite being warned by police about his behavior towards her.
He claimed his only motivation was to see his children.
Bryan pleaded guilty to the charge of stalking and was remanded on bail until August 6 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Mitigation was provided by Damien Pickup, who explained there were three incidents of contact following the sudden end of arranged contact with his children.
On the first occasion, Bryan went to his ex-partner's house to give her money for the children, which she accepted.
The second was a chance encounter in the park with his new partner and her children.
The third involved taking presents for the children, although nobody was home, and he left them with a neighbor.
The court highlighted that Bryan should have understood after police caution that he was not to go to his ex-partner’s address.
