A woman from Greenock caused lasting injuries to a man by striking him on the head with a kettle.
Chloe Campbell, aged 22, admitted to assaulting the man with the electrical appliance at the Inverclyde Centre on Dalrymple Street in February, which resulted in serious injury and permanent disfigurement.
Court records indicate that the assault was considered aggravated because it involved the abuse of a partner or former partner.
After entering a guilty plea before Greenock Sheriff Court, Sheriff Anthony McGeehan postponed sentencing until the following month to allow for a social work report to be prepared for the criminal justice process.
Campbell is also to be evaluated to determine her eligibility for a restriction of liberty order.
She, who resides on Athole Lane in Greenock, is scheduled to appear again on April 15, with her current bail continuing until that date.
A decision regarding a non-harassment order, which would prohibit Campbell from any contact or attempts to contact the victim, is also expected during the next court session.
