BAILDON MAN CHARLIE BOOTH JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER MURDERING LAUREN HOWE
At Leeds Crown Court, 27-year-old Charlie Booth was found guilty of murder in connection with the death of his 26-year-old partner, Lauren Jade Howe.
The incident took place at their home in Baildon, West Yorkshire, on July 24, 2022.
The court heard that Booth caused injuries to Ms Howe that resembled those seen in severe traffic accidents, injuries that led directly to her death.
He received a life sentence, with the judge setting a minimum term of 15 and a half years before parole eligibility.
The court described their relationship as one marred by violence, jealousy, and possessiveness, with Booth’s anger seemingly triggered by Ms Howe going out without him.
Ms Howe had two children with Booth, and Judge Andrew Stubbs pointed out the tragic consequences, saying, 'Your children have lost their mother and, effectively, their father, because they will grow up without either of their parents.' Booth will serve a minimum of 15.5 years before the possibility of parole and will remain on license for the rest of his life.
