CHAD MUNNOCH'S RAMPAGE IN CARDENDEN: WINDOW SMASHING SPREE LEAVES NEIGHBORS SHOCKED

A serious incident unfolded in Cardenden when Chad Munnoch, a 19-year-old resident of South Street, launched a destructive attack on his ex-partner’s home in Carden Castle Park.

The events took place around 2 pm on July 28, 2015, and resulted in significant property damage, narrowly avoiding injury to those inside the residence.

According to reports, Munnoch arrived at the house with the intent of forcing his way inside, demanding to see his former partner.

When her mother answered the door and refused his request, Munnoch’s reaction quickly escalated.

He became visibly angry, shouting and swearing loudly, insisting, “Let me f***ing in.

Let me f***ing speak to her.” Despite attempts by the mother to calm him down and her insistence that he leave, Munnoch’s frustration boiled over.

In a threatening display, he picked up a large stone and declared, “If you don't get her down here, I'm going to put the windows in.” The front door was then closed to prevent him from entering.

Undeterred, Munnoch proceeded to throw a large stone at the living room window, shattering it and causing glass to spray into the room.

Witnesses reported that he then threw another stone at an upstairs window where his ex-partner had been standing just moments before.

This window also broke, with fragments of glass and the stone falling into the hallway below.

Further chaos ensued when witnesses heard the bathroom window smash as Munnoch continued his stone-throwing assault.

Police were called to the scene, and Munnoch had already left by the time officers arrived.

Law enforcement officials managed to trace and detain him shortly afterward.

During questioning, Munnoch was cautioned and charged with two offences.

When questioned about the damage, he initially claimed, “It was three windows, not several,” but later admitted to the authorities that on July 28, 2015, he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner.

He acknowledged that he repeatedly demanded entry, shouted, swore, threatened property damage, and threw stones at multiple windows, causing them to break.

Munnoch’s criminal record includes a domestic assault on a different partner in 2012.

He was also in court previously for a fine related to another offence.

His solicitor, James Moncrieff, explained that Munnoch had been experiencing a very difficult period following the breakup of his relationship and was without a stable place to stay.

Mr.

Moncrieff stated, “He accepts his quite appalling behaviour.

He felt he had nowhere to turn and when he tried to reconcile with her and she did not react the way he had hoped, he lashed out.

He's aware that a custodial sentence might be considered given his offending history.” In sentencing, Sheriff Charles Macnair imposed a community payback order requiring Munnoch to complete 185 hours of unpaid work within six months.

The sheriff emphasized the seriousness of the incident, remarking, “This must have been a very alarming experience for anyone inside.

It's extremely fortunate from your point of view that you're not before court for culpable and reckless conduct that could have caused injury.

When glass is sprayed in a room, injuries can result and you would have been facing a custodial sentence.”
