STALKER WHO HARASSED AND THREATENED YOUNG WOMEN JAILED

A 20-year-old man described as 'calculating and manipulative', who engaged in stalking and harassment of several women, has been incarcerated in a young offenders' facility.

Casey Colton-Young was issued a stalking protection order in 2024 after repeatedly bothering five women, including by employing racist and threatening language.

The court mandated that he notify Nottinghamshire Police of all his devices, social media accounts, and any new relationships.

Last year, Colton-Young was arrested twice due to breaches of the order and further offences against new victims.

Police attended his residence on 16 October and 20 December to arrest him for violating the protection order.

During the second visit, officers experienced a delay in gaining entry, which they believe was caused by Colton-Young hiding a mobile phone later recovered from his bathroom.

Multiple reports about Colton-Young's conduct prompted his arrests.

One young woman reported persistent unwelcome contact after she chose not to pursue a relationship with him.

She explained to officers that he contacted her via a friend's WhatsApp account because he was blocked on her phone, and that he attempted to add her repeatedly through new social media accounts.

When she relocated to university, he posted a Snapchat image indicating he was nearby.

In her victim impact statement, she expressed fear at the thought of receiving messages or him showing up at her home, and shared that she was suffering regular panic attacks.

She described Colton-Young as 'calculated and manipulative.' Another woman reported that he sent her multiple messages, made numerous calls, and issued threats to damage property, harm her, and included threats of rape and holding a knife to her sister's throat.

She stated that his actions made her afraid to go outside, fearing an encounter.

During police interviews, Colton-Young, of Leyton Avenue, Sutton-in-Ashfield, denied the allegations but, confronted with extensive evidence including social media message analysis, pleaded guilty to five counts of breaching the stalking prevention order and to stalking that caused serious alarm or distress.

He was convicted of making threats involving death or serious injury.

On 8 July, during sentencing, he was sentenced to 38 months in a young offender institution and received indefinite restraining orders to protect multiple victims.
