SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR GROSS ABUSES AGAINST GIRLS
A pervert who sexually abused two girls in offences dating back several years has been jailed for seven years. The judge described the offences committed by Carl Foskett as a "nightmare scenario" involving gross behaviour.
The 47-year-old, of Gorse Avenue, Chatham, denied nine charges of indecent assault and nine of indecency with a child.
Prosecutor Sarah Lindop explained that Foskett was living in Maidstone when he behaved inappropriately with the first girl.
The mother of the first girl found a piece of paper in 2002 accusing Foskett, who worked as a security guard, of abusing her.
It was reported to police and she made a statement, describing how Foskett would touch her and simulate sex with her.
Although he was arrested, he was not charged at that time.
The second girl reported that Foskett, who also worked as a carpet fitter, had abused her.
She was rewarded financially if she did as he wanted.
The girl eventually told her boyfriend about the abuse in 2009 via text message.
He informed her mother, leading to police reports.
Due to similarities in their accounts, Foskett was rearrested and charged.
He exercised his right to remain silent and offered no explanation for the allegations.
Foskett had previously admitted to indecency with a girl and was jailed in 2006.
The judge stated that the current offences were far more serious than that single act.
He emphasized the harm inflicted, telling Foskett: "You have been convicted on overwhelming evidence of these grossly abusive offences...
They really did not know what you were doing was wrong.
It shows the level of harm you have wreaked." A sexual offences prevention order was imposed, and Foskett was placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
