FALKIRK MAN CAMERON KERR CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN HIS HOME
In September 2019, authorities uncovered disturbing evidence against Cameron Kerr, a 26-year-old resident of Falkirk, who was found to be in possession of indecent images of children on his personal computer.The investigation revealed that Kerr had stored these illicit images at his residence, specifically at Flat 1, 3 Thornbridge Court, Falkirk.
The offense was committed over a period spanning from May 18 to September 19 of the previous year, during which Kerr's computer contained material classified as Category B and C images depicting the abuse of young children.
During the court proceedings, Sheriff Derek Livingston addressed Kerr directly, stating, “You were found with category B and C pictures of abuse of young children on your computer.” The sheriff emphasized that Kerr had no prior criminal record, which was taken into account during sentencing.
As part of his punishment, Kerr was sentenced to a supervised community payback order for a duration of three years.
This order included a requirement for Kerr to complete 160 hours of unpaid work within six months.
Additionally, Kerr was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of three years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to his offense.
These legal measures reflect the seriousness with which the judicial system treats offenses involving the exploitation and abuse of children, and serve as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and swift action in cases of child exploitation.
