WITNEY OFFENDER SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR BRUTAL SEXUAL ASSAULTS

A violent sex offender known as Callum King from Priory Mill Lane, Witney, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after committing multiple severe sexual assaults involving terrible violence.

King, aged 25, admitted to charges including one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault, trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence, grievous bodily harm, and actual bodily harm.

The court heard that he first attacked a woman returning from Bournemouth on June 6, 2015, by gaining access to her flat and sexually assaulting her while covering her mouth and nose to prevent her from breathing.

The victim sustained injuries including a bloodshot eye and marks on her nose, along with neck and back injuries.

Subsequently, while on bail, King attacked another woman in Witney on June 3, 2016, as she walked home from work, under brutal circumstances that led to fractured vertebrae, bruises, and neck fractures.

During sentencing, Judge Peter Ross described King’s actions as an appalling catalogue of sexual offending combined with shocking violence, which changed victims' lives forever.

He was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of nine years and three months before he can be considered for release.

The judge also ordered an investigation into police handling of evidence related to the case.

King sobbed throughout the hearing and was labeled a dangerous offender, given his history of violent conduct towards women.
