COACH CONVICTED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON WOMEN AND GIRL
Callum Bruce, a man from Peterhead, was convicted of sexually assaulting two women and a 13-year-old girl. His trial took place at Peterhead Sheriff Court, where he faced multiple charges including inappropriate touching of women and making suggestive remarks to the girl.
The incidents involved touching on the buttocks, kissing, and making uncomfortable advances, including asking the girl if she wanted an "adult kiss".
The teenage victim described Bruce as someone who gave her "weird vibes" and stated she felt she "had to tolerate" his behaviour.
Other victims recounted incidents where Bruce touched them on the bottom during nights out in Aberdeen and outside a primary school in Peterhead, where he volunteered as a sports coach.
The court heard that Bruce's actions included grabbing and squeezing victims' buttocks despite their efforts to distance themselves.
Bruce maintained his innocence, claiming that he only hugged a girl to console her and that she was influenced by others' accusations.
His defence argued he was "socially awkward" and misunderstood.
The sheriff found Bruce guilty of all charges, criticising his defence for being inconsistent and blaming victims for misunderstanding his actions.
Bruce was ordered to undergo background checks and will be registered on the sex offenders register, with sentencing details to be confirmed next month.
