MAN FOUND GUILTY OF RAPING TWO WOMEN
A 38-year-old man has been convicted of two counts of rape and a series of abusive behaviors spanning over a decade.Brian John Timoney was found guilty by a jury at Inverness High Court of multiple offences committed from 2013 to the previous year at various locations throughout the city.
The jury reached a unanimous verdict, convicting him of sexual assault and rape against one woman.
Additionally, he was convicted of a pattern of conduct that caused this woman to live in fear and distress, including calling her insulting names and encouraging her to take her own life.
Furthermore, Timoney physically assaulted another woman by pulling her hair, dragging her downstairs, and forcing her to leave a residence.
Most jurors also found him guilty of raping and attacking that second woman, which involved choking her, restricting her breathing, and engaging in a continuous course of conduct that instilled fear or alarm.
This included making threats, shouting, swearing, and on one occasion, driving at high speed, mounting a curb, and swerving toward a vehicle being driven by her.
Timoney, who resides on Culduthel Avenue in Inverness, remains in custody until sentencing, scheduled for July 24 at the High Court in Inverness.
