BRADLEY SAFFER FROM NORFOLK JAILED FOR BREACHING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ORDER IN SWAFFHAM

A man from Norfolk has been sentenced to prison after a court heard that he had repeatedly violated a court-issued protection order designed to safeguard his victims.

Bradley Saffer, aged 29, appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court to face charges related to his breach of a domestic violence protection order (DVPO).

According to court records, Saffer admitted to being in breach of the DVPO when he visited a woman in Swaffham, a town in Norfolk.

His arrest took place on October 15, just five days after the order was officially put into effect.

The timing of his arrest underscores the ongoing issues surrounding his compliance with court directives meant to prevent further harm.

Representatives from Norfolk’s police force, speaking on behalf of the chief constable, provided the court with a troubling history.

They revealed that Saffer had been the subject of five separate DVPOs dating back to 2019.

This pattern of behavior indicates a persistent disregard for court orders and a troubling history of domestic violence incidents involving Saffer.

Further details from the police indicated that Saffer had previously breached these orders on five occasions, including instances where he assaulted his partners.

Such repeated violations highlight the serious concern authorities have regarding his conduct and the potential risk he poses to those around him.

During the hearing, Rachel Buck, representing Saffer, described the situation as “unusual.” She explained that his current partner did not support the order and that Saffer had made contact with her at her request, which complicated the legal proceedings.

Despite this, the court emphasized the importance of adhering to protective orders designed to prevent further violence.

In addition to the breach of the DVPO, Saffer, who resides on Style Loke in Barford, admitted to violating a curfew condition that was part of his bail conditions.

These conditions had been imposed as part of a separate court case, adding to the gravity of his violations.

Magistrates sentenced Saffer to four weeks in jail and ordered that he remain on remand until December 11.

The court issued a stern warning, stating, “Courts take domestic violence very seriously.

DVPOs are put in place to protect victims.” This case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and the judiciary to enforce protective orders and hold offenders accountable for their actions in Norfolk.
