WOMAN, 30, SAYS SHE IS A PRISONER IN HER OWN HOME AFTER STALKER EX-BOYFRIEND SPARED JAIL
Tanya Amies, 30, expressed her distress after Ryan Hall received a suspended sentence for incidents that left her "frightened" to go to work.Hall, 36, had previously pleaded guilty to assaulting Tanya and was subject to a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting her or visiting the former home they shared.
Earlier this month, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, ordered to perform unpaid work, and a new restraining order was issued against him following his appearance at King's Lynn Crown Court in Norfolk.
Hall had earlier admitted to stalking Tanya for three months following their separation in February of the previous year, which involved breaking into her home and workplace, sending abusive messages, and posting content about her online.
Prosecutor Pamela Muniya stated that Hall's actions caused Tanya "significant fear and distress," with severe psychological effects including flashbacks, panic attacks, and PTSD.
The court was informed that Hall had a prior conviction for battery against Miss Amies on February 2, 2025, and that he continued to stalk her even after an order was in place banning contact.
The judge commented that such stalking usually warrants imprisonment and that committing offenses while a restraining order is active is considered a serious aggravating factor.
Miss Amies described feeling trapped in her own home and afraid to leave, as Hall would wait outside her residence and workplace, greatly upsetting her.
She also revealed that Hall sent messages accusing her of lying and streamed live about missing her.
She reacted to the sentence by calling it "an absolute joke" and encouraged others to come forward and speak out.
