FOUR SENTENCED AFTER ADMITTING SEXUAL OFFENDING AGAINST CHILDREN
A man described as 'highly manipulative and exploitative' has been sentenced to 26 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple child sexual offences. On Friday 13 February, at Winchester Crown Court, three women received sentences following an investigation conducted by the Major Crime Team of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.
Elliot Jones, aged 49 and previously residing on Chantry Lane, Necton, Norfolk, had earlier confessed to 21 separate charges, including engaging in sexual activity with a minor and producing indecent images of children.
The court was informed that Jones exploited and facilitated the abuse of several children over several years.
The abuse occurred across different locations within the country.
Jones received a combined sentence totaling 34 years, of which 26 years are to be served in custody, plus an additional eight years of extended licence.
In sentencing Jones, Judge Adam Feest called him a ‘highly manipulative and exploitative individual’.
He added that the risk Jones presents to others ‘is of the highest order’.
The abuse was reported by one of the victims when he became an adult, and enquiries identified further victims.
A large number of indecent images and videos of children which evidenced the offending were also found on devices seized when Jones was arrested, including phones, USB sticks and a hard drive.
Other evidence of offending was found on devices belonging to the other defendants.
