WOMAN BATTERED BY 'MONSTER' EX-BOYFRIEND SLAMS TWO-YEAR JAIL SENTENCE
A woman named Kirsty Schofield was subjected to a violent attack by her ex-boyfriend, Bobby Stewart, who was heavily intoxicated at the time.Stewart had become obsessed with the idea that Kirsty was cheating on him, leading to repeated violent incidents.
Her account describes a brutal assault where he returned from drinking, stamped on her head so severely she began to lose consciousness, and ignored her pleas to call an ambulance.
She escaped only wrapped in bedsheets after a 30-minute stand-off.
Kirsty described Stewart as looking evil, noting she no longer forgives him after that attack.
Her ordeal included months of emotional and physical abuse, with Stewart exhibiting paranoid and obsessive behaviors such as checking her phone daily, calling her at work, and controlling her interactions.
The final attack took place on August 21, on what would have been their one-year anniversary.
Stewart, after drinking, burst into her home and demanded she hand over her phone.
When she ran to hide, he found her, hit and kicked her, and stomped on her head.
She sustained a bruise on her neck and was afraid she might die.
Despite her begging for help, Stewart did not call an ambulance, and she was only able to escape after she convinced him to let her go.
Stewart was convicted and sentenced to two years in jail, which Kirsty considers too short a punishment, saying, "Two years is nothing for the torture I suffered.
He should have got bl***y longer." During his sentencing, Stewart showed no remorse, sticking two fingers up as the judge described her distressing call as one of the most desperate he had heard.
Kirsty expressed pride in her strength to speak out publicly and encourages other victims of domestic abuse to do the same, emphasizing she is glad to be free of Stewart's manipulative and violent influence.
