BOBBY HENDRY FROM FRASERBURGH AND ABERDEEN SENTENCED FOR DRUGS OFFENSES AFTER PRISON RELEASE

In a case that highlights the ongoing issues of criminal activity following release from incarceration, Bobby Hendry, a 38-year-old man with a troubling criminal history, was recently sentenced to prison for drug dealing offenses. Hendry, who had previously served time for serious sexual offenses, was released from prison on July 27 of the previous year after serving an eight-year sentence for raping and sexually assaulting a young girl in Fraserburgh.

Despite his release, Hendry's criminal activities resumed swiftly. Within just two months of regaining his freedom, he was found involved in the illegal sale of cocaine. His drug dealing was carried out from his residence and also in the vicinity of Bedford Road in Aberdeen, a location known for its diverse community and urban environment. Hendry was not acting alone; he was associated with another individual from Regent Quay, Aberdeen, who was involved in the distribution of amphetamines.

Both Hendry and his co-accused pleaded guilty to reduced charges related to drug dealing on a specific day, September 17 of the previous year. They had originally been accused of supplying drugs over a period stretching from June 17 to September 17, but the plea deal resulted in lesser charges. The Crown accepted the guilty pleas from Davidson, who was a first-time offender, and Hendry. Davidson was sentenced to a three-year probation period and ordered to complete 180 hours of community service. Hendry’s case, however, was remitted to the High Court for further consideration due to the severity of his previous convictions.

It was also revealed that Hendry was recalled to prison to serve the remainder of his sex-crimes sentence after his involvement in drug dealing was uncovered. Additionally, Lord Carloway sentenced Hendry to an extra 200 days in jail last week for the rape case, specifically for the period during which he was unlawfully at large.

According to police reports, officers encountered Hendry in a vehicle on Bedford Avenue. The officers, concerned about his manner of driving, conducted a traffic stop. During the subsequent search, Hendry was observed attempting to conceal a package in his jacket sleeve, which he later admitted contained cocaine. A search of his flat uncovered ten bags of the drug, with an estimated street value between £1,000 and £1,200. The drugs were believed to be intended for sale in the local area.

Hendry’s legal representative, solicitor Tony Burgess, explained that his client had been temporarily returned to prison following allegations of drinking and disorderly conduct, which were later found to be unfounded. Despite this, Hendry was sentenced to six months in prison by Sheriff Douglas Cusine for his recent offenses, underscoring the serious consequences of his continued criminal behavior after previous convictions and prison terms.
