ABERDEEN MAN ORDERED TO STOP THREATENING EX-PARTNER AFTER LONG CAMPAIGN OF ABUSE

A man identified as Christopher Lindsay has been legally ordered to refrain from threatening or abusive behavior after he engaged in a lengthy campaign of harassment against his former partner.

Lindsay, 44, was involved in sending her up to 100 SMS messages daily, often making derogatory remarks and even threatening to kill her over nearly five years.

One particularly disturbing incident involved Lindsay sending a video that appeared to show him burning his ex-partner’s clothes.

When questioned by police, Lindsay explained that he was burning his own T-shirt in a controlled fire.

The court heard that the relationship between Lindsay and his partner ended around March 2020, yet he continued to contact her, and on one occasion, when a family member expressed concern that Lindsay might harm her in the future, he responded by saying “probably,” adding that “it might be today.” Between February 17 and 18 of this year, Lindsay sent the woman 46 text messages, insulting her and questioning her new relationship with another man.

Lindsay admitted to sending a threatening video and multiple abusive messages, and pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behavior from April 2019 to February 2024.

The court sentenced him to be of good behavior for six months, warning that any further misconduct could lead to imprisonment.

The sheriff emphasized that this behavior must not be repeated, and he must acknowledge that the relationship is over.

The case highlights the importance of addressing such harassment and protecting victims from future harm.
