BILAL YILMAZ'S HORRIFIC CRUELTY IN SCUNTHORPE: ANIMAL ABUSE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHOCK COMMUNITY

Bilal Yilmaz, born on July 21, 1990, and previously residing in Hull, has been at the center of a disturbing case of animal cruelty and domestic violence in Scunthorpe.

As of April 2021, he was living at 4 Eton Court, DN17 2PG, where his violent actions led to the suffering and death of a defenseless pet rabbit.

Yilmaz's brutality was first uncovered when RSPCA inspectors responded to reports of animal abuse at his residence.

Upon investigation, they discovered a grey domestic rabbit in a state of severe neglect.

The rabbit was found inside a cardboard box, emaciated, immobile, and suffering from horrific injuries.

Her hind legs were decomposing and saturated with feces, indicating she had been dragging herself around the house for weeks.

The smell of decay was overwhelming, almost causing Inspector Hannah Bryer to faint as she rescued the suffering animal and transported her to a veterinary clinic.

The veterinarian examined the rabbit and confirmed she had a broken spine and femur, injuries that had been inflicted with such force that her back was shattered.

The vet was appalled by the extent of her suffering and the fact that Yilmaz, her owner, had not sought any medical treatment for her.

The rabbit had endured immense pain, hunger, and immobility for nearly four weeks before her rescue.

Due to her condition and the prolonged suffering, the veterinarian made the decision to euthanize her on welfare grounds.

Yilmaz later pleaded guilty to charges of animal cruelty.

During the court proceedings, he claimed that he had flicked the rabbit against the wall after it bit him.

However, veterinary experts testified that the injuries were consistent with being forcefully thrown, not a simple bite incident.

Mr.

Brown, representing the prosecution, stated, “The vet said he was horrified by the degree of suffering this animal endured, especially considering the owner had inflicted the injuries and didn’t make any attempt to alleviate her pain.” In addition to the animal cruelty charges, Yilmaz admitted to assaulting his wife and a toddler.

He was accused of trying to drag his pregnant wife, who was 15 weeks pregnant at the time, into his car on the street and persuade her to have an abortion.

The couple, who are cousins, were separated during the incident.

Yilmaz also confessed to accidentally slapping a toddler across the face, which caused her nose to bleed and left a red mark under her eye.

During sentencing, Yilmaz was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison.

Furthermore, he was banned for life from owning or keeping any animals, a measure intended to prevent further cruelty.

The case has shocked the local community in Scunthorpe, highlighting the severity of his violent and neglectful behavior towards both animals and humans.
