BARRY ENGLAND FROM BANBURY FACES RESTRICTIONS AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT IN WORCESTERSHIRE

A court has issued a restraining order against Barry England, a man from Banbury, following his admission to sexually assaulting a woman in Worcestershire.

The incident in question took place on September 3, 2023, and has led to significant legal consequences for England.

The 47-year-old, who resides on Jersey Drive in Banbury, pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual assault on a female during a court hearing held on January 14 of this year.

Subsequently, he was brought before Worcester Justice Centre on February 28, where he was sentenced for his actions.

The court imposed a financial penalty of £120, along with additional court costs amounting to £85 and a victim surcharge of £48.

These financial penalties are part of the court’s effort to address the harm caused by his actions.

In addition to the financial penalties, the court issued a retraining order that restricts England from contacting several women and from entering the town of Droitwich.

This order is set to remain in effect until February 27, 2027, effectively limiting his movements and interactions with certain individuals.

The court acknowledged the emotional toll that the assault had on the victim, highlighting the seriousness of the case.

However, it did not order any compensation to be paid to the victim, focusing instead on the restraining and financial penalties as measures to prevent further harm.
