WAKEFIELD MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND ATTEMPTED RAPE IN NIGHTCLUB TOILETS
In November last year, 23-year-old Ayman Adam from Cedar Court, Wakefield, carried out a series of disturbing sexual offenses. His actions included sneaking into the women’s bathroom at the Truth nightclub, where he initially touched the symbol on the door and then left.
He later entered the men’s restroom, approached a man at a urinal, and repeatedly inquired, 'Are you gay?'.
Adam proceeded to touch the man's genital area over his clothing and attempted to kiss him on the cheek and neck, despite receiving resistance.
The man managed to escape and alerted security personnel.
Afterwards, Adam returned to the women’s toilets and interacted with another woman at the hand dryer, touching her hip or buttock while smiling; she left immediately.
At Reflex nightclub, he targeted a different woman, dancing near her, grabbing her arm, and trying to kiss her before she and her daughter intervened.
He then followed her into the toilet, where he placed his hand around her throat, forced her into a cubicle, and strangled her with a wide grin.
She escaped with injuries including a torn nose ring and bleeding lips and face.
Adam was convicted at Leeds Crown Court of intentional strangulation, attempted rape, and sexual assault.
He received an extended prison sentence of seven years, with a further three years on extended license.
He will serve two-thirds of this term before parole is considered.
The police praised the victims’ courage and stressed their ongoing dedication to safeguarding the nightlife scene.
