ASHELY CHAMBERS JAILED FOR HORRIFIC SEX CRIMES IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
Detectives commended the resilience of a rape survivor for her role in securing the conviction of her attacker.
The woman endured multiple frightening assaults by Ashley Chambers last December.
During that month, she was raped twice at a residence in Nottinghamshire by Chambers.
The 38-year-old further assaulted her, this time threatening her with knives and scissors.
The violence intensified when Chambers assaulted and strangled the woman until she lost consciousness.
She was able to wake up and escape by leaping out of a window, subsequently seeking assistance.
Police responded quickly to her call, arriving at the scene to arrest Chambers, who was taken into custody in handcuffs.
Thanks to her courage in reporting the incidents, authorities filed several charges against Chambers.
He admitted guilt to two counts of rape, as well as charges of attempted strangulation, causing actual bodily harm, and threatening her with an offensive weapon.
At Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, 8 August, Chambers, residing on Ilkeston Road, Stapleford, received a 12-year prison sentence.
Additionally, he was issued an indefinite restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the victim in any capacity.
