HALIFAX MAN SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND RAPE
In Calderdale, twenty men have been sentenced to a combined total of over 200 years in prison after an extensive investigation into historical child sexual abuse.
The offenders were convicted of abusing and exploiting four girls aged between 12 and 16, with the total sentence reaching 219 years.
The investigation, which began in 2016 and looked into abuse reported between 2006 and 2009, led to multiple trials and convictions.
Asad Mahmood, one of the convicted individuals, received a 13-year sentence for rape.
The court proceedings faced certain restrictions that have now been cleared, allowing full access to the case details.
Police officials underline the importance of reporting child sexual abuse incidents, regardless of when they occurred, and encourage victims to come forward for support.
