ANTONY SQUIRES FROM WELLINGBOROUGH CAUGHT WITH HUNDREDS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES, SET FOR COURT SENTENCE

In a disturbing case emerging from Wellingborough, a local man named Antony Squires, aged 63, is facing serious criminal charges after authorities uncovered a large collection of illicit images depicting child abuse. The incident, which took place in July 2017, has led to Squires being brought before Northampton Magistrates' Court, where he admitted to possessing over 500 vile and illegal images.

During the court proceedings earlier this week, Squires pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children. The evidence presented revealed that his collection included a staggering 323 images classified as Category A, which are considered the most depraved and disturbing. In addition, there were 124 images categorized as Category B and 135 images classified as Category C, indicating a range of severity in the material he possessed.

Furthermore, Squires faced additional charges for possessing 59 extreme pornographic images and six prohibited video recordings involving children. These charges underscore the severity of the case and the disturbing nature of the material involved.

Following his guilty plea, magistrates decided to grant Squires unconditional bail, allowing him to remain free until his sentencing. The court scheduled his sentencing for March 5 at Northampton Crown Court. Until then, Squires is required to register as a sex offender at the police station in Wellingborough, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with legal obligations.
