BOSTON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR MURDERED WIFE
Antonio Goncalves, who is 45 years old and lives on Ingram Road in Boston, was found guilty of murdering Isabel Trindade, a 36-year-old woman.
She was attacked in front of a four-year-old child at a friend’s residence in Boston, Lincolnshire, suffering 21 stab wounds.
During the trial, it was revealed that Goncalves had repeatedly threatened his estranged wife before the incident, which he carried out in a deliberate and determined manner on October 7, 2010.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment at Lincoln Crown Court, with a minimum term of 28 years before he becomes eligible for parole.
Furthermore, Goncalves was given an additional 15-year sentence for the attempted murder of her partner, Christopher Ayres, who was stabbed while trying to protect her.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) launched an inquiry into Lincolnshire Police’s prior contact with Ms Trindade, following the case being referred to them on October 8, because of existing police records involving the woman.
