ANTHONY MOGG FROM ROCHESTER CAUGHT IN SEXUAL PLOT WITH UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICERS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Rochester, Anthony Mogg, a 75-year-old military veteran, was caught attempting to engage in illegal sexual activities with what he believed were underage girls. The incident unfolded when Mogg created a false online identity to lure young girls into conversations that quickly turned inappropriate.

According to court proceedings at Southwark Crown Court, Mogg used the internet platform MyLOL.com, a site often associated with teenagers, to pose as a teenager himself. His aim was to establish contact with young girls and arrange meetings for sexual encounters. Prosecutor Gregor McKinlay detailed how Mogg had logged onto the site under an alias, seeking to exploit the platform for his illicit intentions.

Between June and August of this year, Mogg engaged in a series of messages with two girls named Lauren and Issy. These communications included sexually explicit content, which Mogg sent in an attempt to persuade the girls to meet him in person. However, the two girls he contacted were actually undercover police officers operating online, posing as minors to catch potential offenders.

The court heard that Mogg’s actions demonstrated a clear intent to pursue illegal sexual activity with minors, which has led to his being branded as ‘a dirty old man’ by the community and authorities alike. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat online grooming and protect vulnerable minors from predators.
