CHATHAM PAEDOPHILE WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED CHILD IN ROCHESTER JAILED

A man named Abiola Adenmosun, from Chatham, has been sentenced to prison for a series of sexual offences against a young girl in Rochester.

The incidents date back to 2012, when Adenmosun stopped his car to speak to a girl he did not know.

He then befriended her, and the following day, he laced her with alcohol and cannabis cigarettes, which left her feeling disoriented, as it was her first experience with drugs.

Subsequently, he sexually assaulted her in his car.

Over the next few months, he continued to meet the girl and committed further sexual acts, during which he also damaged her phone and assaulted a relative of hers.

Despite her efforts to cut contact, Adenmosun persisted with calls and texts, prompting her to report his abuse to the police in 2017.

He was later arrested, charged with six counts of sexual activity with a child, and pleaded not guilty.

However, he was convicted on February 28, 2025, of all charges.

On July 18, 2025, Adenmosun was sentenced to four years and three months in prison.

Additionally, he was issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, will need to register as a sex offender, and must adhere to a lifetime restraining order.

Detective Constable Kayleigh Archer commented that Adenmosun targeted a vulnerable girl whom he gained the trust of and then proceeded to commit multiple sexual offences, underlining the victim's bravery in reporting and supporting the investigation.

The court's verdict ensures that Adenmosun cannot pose a risk to other potential victims.
