2007: BOLTON MAN ANTHONY HUNTER JAILED FOR RAPE AND ASSAULT
2007; A man convicted of raping one woman and violently assaulting another has been sentenced to over seven years in prison.Anthony Hunter, 55 years old and residing on Emmanuel Close in Bolton, appeared before Bolton Crown Court to be sentenced after being found guilty of a rape that occurred in 2004 and causing serious injury to another woman in late 2005.
The victim of the assault was hospitalized for nine days due to injuries that included bleeding on the brain.
Judge Timothy Clayson remarked that Hunter presents a danger to women because of mental health issues and alcohol abuse, which impair his medication and influence his conduct.
He was sentenced to five years for the rape and an additional 28 months for grievous bodily harm, with the sentences to be served back-to-back.
