WESTON MAN JAILED FOR THREE YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT
A resident of Weston-super-Mare has received a three-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexual assault.
Angelus Payne, residing on Moore Lane, appeared before Bristol Crown Court on January 16, 2025, and admitted to three counts of sexual assault that took place in February 2023.
The victim told the Weston Mercury that the assault occurred in her own home, which she considered a safe place, but afterward, she felt too frightened to remain there.
She explained that she left her residence due to feelings of fear and flashbacks, and has since been experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, including nightmares and insomnia.
Payne was sentenced to three years in prison for the sexual offences and was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £228 to the victim.
The case was prosecuted by Sarah Regan, with Ian Morell serving as the defense counsel.
