SKELMORLIE MAN GIVEN UNPAID WORK FOR SEXUAL IMAGES OFFENCE
A PERVERT who sent a woman unwanted messages containing photographs of male and female private parts has been placed on the sex offenders register.Andrew Wallace committed the offence in Rothesay over a period of around three months last year.
Between May 7 and August 2, Wallace intentionally caused the woman to view the sexual images.
He pleaded guilty to the charge at [Greenock Sheriff Court](https://www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/local-news/greenock-news/?ref=au) earlier this year and recently returned to the dock for sentencing.
The court heard the first offender had been suffering from mental health issues at the time amid difficulties in his personal life.
His defence solicitor said: “He is now fully aware of the impact this had and would continue to have on the complainer.
“He does regret his behaviour and the commission of this offence.
“Clearly this case is a serious matter and Mr Wallace recognises that.” Sheriff Lynch placed Wallace on a community payback order requiring him to complete 90 hours of unpaid work, reduced from 100 hours due to his guilty plea.
He will remain under supervision for 12 months and has been placed on the sex offenders register for the same period.
A non-harassment order was also made to prevent Wallace from contacting the woman for five years.
