CHRISTCHURCH MAN SENTENCED FOR OVER 1,000 INDECENT CHILD IMAGES
A man named Andrew James Ryland, aged 33 and residing on Drake Close in Christchurch, has been found guilty of possessing more than 1,000 indecent images of children, which includes 120 Category A images, 287 Category B images, and 617 Category C images.
The offences occurred between February 14, 2018, and April 21, 2018.
Ryland also admitted to possessing a quantity of MDMA on April 20, 2018.
He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on October 23, where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a community order, requiring him to participate in a sex offender programme for 35 days and 25 days of rehabilitation activities or appointments with probation services.
Additionally, he was fined £500, ordered to pay an £85 surcharge and £85 in costs, and was placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
A sexual harm prevention order was made, valid until further notice, and all computer devices and MDMA seized by police were to be destroyed.
