ANDREW HUNDSDON BOSTON MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES AND INDECENT IMAGES

In August 2018, a man from Boston, identified as Andrew Hunsdon, was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of a series of heinous crimes involving child sexual abuse and possession of indecent images. The case drew significant attention due to the disturbing nature of the offenses and the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

Hunsdon, aged 56 at the time, was taken into custody following a police investigation that initially focused on his online activities. Authorities suspected him of downloading and sharing indecent images of young children. The investigation intensified when police executed a search warrant at his residence in Amber Hill, a locality near Boston, in August 2016. During the raid, officers discovered photographs taken by Hunsdon himself, which depicted a young girl. This evidence was crucial in establishing his involvement in the abuse.

Further inquiries led officers to identify the girl in the photographs. She disclosed that she had been subjected to sexual abuse by Hunsdon, adding a deeply troubling dimension to the case. The prosecuting attorney, Richard Thatcher, outlined the details during the proceedings at Lincoln Crown Court, emphasizing that police had received credible information indicating Hunsdon’s involvement in sharing indecent images of children through file-sharing networks. When confronted, Hunsdon admitted to participating in the sharing of such images, confirming his engagement in illegal activities.

Hunsdon, who was previously residing at Sutterton Drove in Amber Hill but was later admitted to a psychiatric facility, faced multiple charges. These included sexual assault of a child under 13, engaging in sexual activity with a minor, and two counts related to the possession of indecent images of children. In total, he pleaded guilty to creating 430 indecent images of children, a charge that underscores the extent of his offending. Additionally, he admitted to possessing 62 extreme pornographic images, further highlighting the severity of his crimes.

During sentencing, Judge Simon Hirst addressed Hunsdon directly, noting his claim of having no memory of the offenses. The judge expressed skepticism about this assertion, given that Hunsdon had previously identified the specific computer equipment used to access the illicit material. Recognizing the gravity of the crimes and the potential risk posed to the community, Judge Hirst concluded that only an immediate custodial sentence was appropriate, resulting in Hunsdon’s four-year imprisonment.
