GRIMSBY OFFENDER JAILED FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES

Andrew Davies, 52, has been sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court for multiple sex offences including raping a young girl, causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempted rape of a child under 13, sexual assault of a child under 13, and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

He admitted these offences, which had a severe psychological impact on the victim, who described feeling as if she was mourning a life that never existed.

The victim also reported ongoing struggles with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, shame, guilt, and flashbacks.

The court heard how Davies encouraged the victim to keep his actions secret.

The judge sentenced him to 19 years in prison, with an extended six years on license due to the level of risk he poses to the public.

He will serve at least 12 years before consideration for parole, spend the rest of his 25-year term on license, and be on the Sex Offender Register for life.

He is also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention order and barred from working with children for life.

Davies worked in a Digital Design Studio while in custody awaiting sentencing.
