OBSESSED WOMAN JAILED FOR HARASSING STRANGER WITH CREEPY MESSAGES
A 41-year-old woman has been detained after subjecting a stranger to a relentless stream of abusive and threatening messages.Amy Pickard carried out a disturbing stalking campaign targeting her victim between September and October 2024.
She operated multiple fake profiles on Facebook, flooding the platform with invasive, sexual, and menacing communications.
At the peak of her activity, hundreds of messages were sent every five minutes, from early morning until late at night.
She even edited photos of herself to include the man and used these images as her profile pictures, creating the illusion of a sexualised relationship.
Pickard monitored the victim’s activities closely, sending messages about his clothing choices, pets, and even when he turned on his heating proof that she had been watching him intently.
In one particularly disturbing message, Pickard referenced a bird box installed outside his home, indicating she knew intimate details of his daily routine.
The harassment grew more aggressive when she appeared outside the primary school where the victim dropped off his children on 15 October 2024.
She was arrested that same day at Giltbrook Shopping Park, wearing distinctive stripy socks an item previously highlighted in her taunting messages.
Digital forensic analysis linked images on Pickard’s phone to the Facebook accounts used in the harassment.
The victim stated in a written impact report that Pickard’s actions had severely affected his mental health.
On 4 March, Pickard, who resides on Woodlands Close in Watnall, admitted to charges of harassment and causing fear of violence at Nottingham Crown Court.
She was sentenced to six years in prison and received an indefinite restraining order preventing any form of contact with her victim.
