CONGLETON WOMAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK THAT LEFT MAN IN A SIX-MONTH COMA
A man was left in a coma for six months after his partner, Amanda Alcock, and another man, Shane Dawson, launched a brutal attack on him following a disagreement. The victim, aged 56, was beaten at his flat in Meadow Mill Court on September 2.
Shane Dawson and Amanda Alcock assaulted him after a dispute, and Dawson admitted to repeatedly kicking the victim in the head.
A Cheshire Police detective described the incident as one of the most brutal and life-changing she has ever dealt with in her 16 years of service.
The victim suffered serious head injuries and was placed in an induced coma at Royal Stoke University Hospital, where medical experts believe he will likely never talk or walk again and will need lifelong care.
Dawson, aged 49 of Meadow Mill Court, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while Alcock, formerly of Roe Street, Macclesfield, was sentenced to nine years after pleading guilty to section 18 assault.
Dawson initially attended Congleton police station requesting an ambulance for the victim claiming he was having a seizure; subsequently, he confessed to the attack, revealing that Alcock had been involved.
Forensic evidence later confirmed Alcock's involvement.
Despite her claims of mere presence, blood splatter on Alcock’s footwear proved her participation in the assault.
